Our Story

Our Story!

Having met in 2015, we were colleagues first, friends soon after and most recently; Aunties and Mama's to the little Moon Child Explorers in our lives!

We always knew that we wanted to work on a kids wear range together and having just watched The True Cost on Netflix (if you haven’t watched it, do it!) we were inspired but bemused with the lack of Organic and Fair-trade cool clothes for little ones. Not only that, but it seemed that the same old ‘Pink is for Girls’ + ‘Blue is for Boys’ limited style was still the main offering. Both Girls and Boys can love dinosaurs and running around in mud. And in essence, we designed and created with a unisex aimed handwriting.

After much demand, the Moon Child range has recently opened the doors to matching adult items, meaning that we offer twinning opportunities for the whole Explorer Family!

Our Yorkshire based childhood in the nineties consisted of exploring the local woods, making mud pies, and playing tag with the local kids on the street until the sun went down! We believe that childhood should be a magical adventure of exploration and learning through nature 'Those who don't believe in magic, will never find it’. After a year of research and sourcing the perfect suppliers, Moon Child was born.

Here at Moon Child we believe with all of the trillions of stars within this little universe, that Organic & Ethically Produced clothing is one of the key ingredients to ensure that our very own Planet Earth, becomes a Sustainable world to live in.

That is why we work fairly with each of our suppliers, paying a decent price so that they can in turn, pay decent wages. We produce our Organic Cotton in a Fair-trade workshop in India, not only because it is close to the Cotton Farms, but also because they are experts in Cotton Weaving.

Our pieces are hand made in England, SWEAT-SHOP-FREE. It is our Moon Child core values that we help towards being a part of a fairer world.

Stay Wild, Moon Child!
